The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is actively working to rejuvenate and fortify the national men’s football team.
In a noteworthy development, PFF has officially introduced Rogerio Ramos, a highly experienced Brazilian goalkeeping coach, to collaborate with the national team as they prepare for upcoming World Cup qualifier matches. Ramos brings a wealth of expertise to the Pakistani squad, enhancing their goalkeeping capabilities.
Under the guidance of recently appointed head coach Stephen Constantine, the Pakistan national football team is gearing up for a pivotal journey to Cambodia, with their arrival slated for October 9. This expedition holds great significance as it precedes crucial World Cup qualifiers.
Notably, Rogerio Ramos has previously worked alongside Stephen Constantine, fostering a sense of familiarity and synergy within the coaching staff.
In addition to Ramos, PFF has also appointed Claudio Altieri as the team’s fitness trainer. Altieri, hailing from Italy, has already joined the Pakistan football team and commenced his duties in Lahore today.
Stephen Constantine, a highly seasoned coach in the Asian football arena, boasts an illustrious coaching career. He previously managed the Nepal national team for two years before taking the reins of the Indian football team. Constantine led India to a silver medal at the 2003 Afro-Asian Games and secured victory at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship in 2016, earning him the title of Coach of the Year in the country. Throughout his coaching journey, he has also overseen prominent teams like Premier League’s AFC Bournemouth and English club Millwall.
The upcoming World Cup qualifiers between Pakistan and Cambodia are scheduled for October 12 and 17, 2023, with the first leg to be held in Cambodia and the second in Pakistan.
